Exactly one year ago, we stood on the starting line of a bold dream led by our Group CEO Dr Keith Nkomo – a vision that seemed too ambitious to some, too uncertain to others. But we took the first step. And today, one year later, we are standing tall because the grace of God has carried us through. First and foremost, I want to thank God Almighty for His guidance, wisdom, protection, and provision over this journey. The scripture in 1 Samuel 7:12 says, “Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, ‘Thus far the Lord has helped us.’” Truly, Ebenezer – the Lord has brought us this far.

To our esteemed Board Members: Thank you for your wisdom, your steady guidance, and your unwavering belief in the vision of Salutem International Medical Fund. Your leadership has been both a compass and an anchor. To our incredible staff members: Words may never fully capture the depth of gratitude I have for each of you. Your hard work, sacrifice, resilience, dedication, and belief have been the heartbeat of this organization. Through every challenge, every long night, every hurdle – you stayed. You gave. You believed. And you delivered. This year, we’ve not just survived – we’ve shaken the market. We set out to do more than follow trends – we aimed to create them. And together, we’ve built a customer-centric culture that is bold, innovative, and impactful. Who else but the Salutem team could roll out a transactional medical aid card that puts control in the hands of the customer? Who else but this team could pioneer real-time claims processing, settlement, and reporting, simplifying healthcare financing and rebuilding trust in medical aid? And who else could dream up and bring to life MediMatePlus – a product that goes beyond healthcare to offer tuition loans for students, helping prevent school dropouts and promoting a 360- degree approach to wellness? That’s not just insurance – that’s transformation. 

To each and every one of you who played a role in these innovations – take a bow. You are writing the future of healthcare financing. But as we celebrate this milestone, let’s remember – this is only the beginning. The next chapter is even bolder. We are not just here to compete in local leagues. We are aiming to conquer the SADC region. Our eyes are set on the Africa Premier League of Health Insurance – where the giants play. And I stand here today to make a bold declaration: “The win is coming. Don’t let the ‘when’ worry you.” Some never believed in us when we started. Now, they can’t believe it’s us.
